Rainham Marshes

Year 5 had a wonderful time at Rainham Marshes for a geography and science trip linked to our theme learning about rivers and habitats. The children completed an investigation to work out the velocity of the river and used excellent Maths skills to solve tricky equations.  The children also went pond dipping to collecti samples of minibeasts, which they identified using a classification key. As part of this exciting trip, we also walked along the lower course of the River Thames and through the marshes to identify how animals and plants are adapted to suit their environment in different ways.
